WWIII? Tale of the tape...

There is increasing reason to believe that we are in the early stages of a multi-continent, multi-national war effort...serious stuff that we should all pray does not materialize any further. But if it does how will it stack up? This just off the top of my head with no research of political ties or other possible factors:

GOOD GUYS(in order of significance)
Likely active combatants:
1. USA...in football terms the most complete team from top to bottom. The most sophisticated offensive weapons as well as the most feared defense. Only weakness may be the mental toughness of the "left wing" back [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img].
2. Israel...an aerial attack 2nd to none. Undersized but packs a heavy punch. Have never been beaten. Doesn't have many friends but their most important ally is ranked #1 and flies the red white and blue.
3. United Kingdom...Not superior in any area but not weak in any either. Military history as fine as any that can be found.
4. Japan...Former arch enemy is now a crucial friend. Has not been battle tested but due to their geographic location they have alot at stake.
5. France...Like it or not the pretty boys who don't like to get their uniforms dirty will most likely have to align with the much hated Yanks. The French hate radical Islam as much as anybody and that will be a unifying factor.
6. Italy...Viva Italia! Strategic importance here as well due to their southern european location and access to the mediterranean.
7. Australia...The boys down under have always backed us and despite their isolation could play an important role in several areas.
8. South Korea...Would have no choice but to take up arms.

Important Non-Combative Supporters:
Canada: Would probably have no choice but to join in.
India...could be drawn in as a combatant as well depending on what Pakistan does.
Brazil...if only it were soccer
Mexico...nice cheerleader
Philippines...could use their naval bases.


BAD GUYS
Likely Active Combatants:
1. China...Depth, Depth, Depth...wants to wear you down and deliver the punishment in the 4th Qtr...Would have to rank second in the world in terms of most feared country to wage war against due to shear size.
2. Russia...The big bear has gotten cocky again. Not the fearsome threat it once was in the days of the Soviet Union but still formidable.
3. Iran...Has the money to spend on free agency without a doubt...don't know if they can put their money where their mouth is though. Definitely crazy enough to try.
4. North Korea...Talks a big game as well. Definitely wants to challenge the bigger teams and get noticed. Looks like it is working.
5. Venezuela...will align against the U.S. no matter what. Rich as well with a nutty head coach.
6. Pakistan...will probably join with their Muslim brothers.
7. Syria...little pain in the neck that won't go away.
8. Turkey...See Pakistan.
9. Palestine(Hamas)...Just hates Israel, well they hate the U.S. too.
10. Hezbollah
11. Al-Queda

Very cool thread.. not saying that war is "cool" in any way, but it's interesting reading about the "good" and "bad" guys when taking a look at how things are right now.

I believe you're right with most of the nations and who's on who's side, but I have no clue how far away another world war is.. only God himself knows the answer to that question, and that's something we should be thankful for. A third world war would be beyond devastating.

Hezbollah and Al-Queda run the single wing offense. Complicated to completely shut down because of the misdirection and blindsided shots. Scary to look at the other side of the board and see China due to their numbers. But also must be scary for them to look across and see USA and Israel. Israel is like the team that displays character until there is a chepshot against one of there players then they come back with an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth x2!!

Al-Qaeda's Bin Laden is one of the top Quarterbacks in the world, standing at 6'5" tall and using his turban as a hand-towel. He can really air it out if he needs to.

However, even with these advantages, Chubz, standing at only around 5'11", can throw a much tighter spiral and is better at rocketing it to receivers.

I think you're definitely right about that.

If it ever does happen though, I guarantee you that it would be quite a brutal conflict... many civilians would probably be pitching in a fighting to the death as well.

A World War at this point would not benefit anyone, or any country. This will only make every problem in the world mulitply such as poverty and starving countries.
